H-CV Baseball Preview 2021

Hillsboro-Central Valley opens its spring baseball season Thursday against the Grafton Spoilers. Head coach Nathan Walsh said this year’s club has its sights set on the Region 2 crown.

Head coach Nathan Walsh believes second place isn’t good enough any longer for Hillsboro-Central Valley’s baseball team.

Despite what he feels will be a balanced Region 2, the Burros have their sights set on the top of the region standings and perennial power Thompson this spring.

“We want to win this region,” Walsh said Wednesday, eight days before H-CV opens it season.

“We’ve been in the championship game a couple of times in the last few years and have been runner-up. But we want to get there again and get to that state tournament.”

Walsh began rotating players in and out of his lineup last summer in preparation for this season.

Depth will be important to climbing the Region 2 rankings this spring.
