Landon Olson runs through a Thompson tackle

Hillsboro-Central Valley junior running back Landon Olson, center, powers through a tackle attempt by a Thompson defender on the way to a touchdown Oct. 14. Olson ran for 268 yards on the night.

THOMPSON, N.D. – Landon Olson might be the quietest player on Hillsboro-Central Valley’s roster. But he’s been letting his play do his talking this season.

The junior running back had a career performance in H-CV’s 42-8 road win over the Tommies Oct. 14.

Olson ran for 268 yards on 20 carries and crossed the goal line three times in the Burros’ final regular-season game in Thompson.

“He’s really evolved this year with his cutting ability and ability to read holes,” H-CV senior lineman Jake Swanson said about Olson, who carried the football 10 times in 2021.

“When we give him a good hole that guy is gone. He’s running really hard and he was running through guys tonight. We couldn’t be more proud of what he did tonight.”
