Sammy Satrom throws to first

MayPort-CG shortstop Sammy Satrom grabs some air while delivering a throw to first base for an out during the Patriots’ 8-2 win over Oak Grove at Fargo Davies High School on Wednesday night.

FARGO – Sawyer Satrom struck out 13 and teammate Kade Susie collected four RBIs to lead MayPort-CG to an 8-2 win over Oak Grove on Wednesday night.

Satrom notched double-digit strikeouts in his second straight start, helping the Patriots nab the No. 3 seed in Monday’s District 6 tournament in Hope, N.D.

“We’re playing good baseball right now,” said MPCG head coach Taylor Kunkel.

“But we have to play better next week than we did tonight.”

The Patriots were missing four young starters in Wednesday night’s lineup due to a conflicting Babe Ruth tournament in Thompson.

Ethan Bergstrom, Lucas Fugleberg, Jake Hutter and Cole Kritzberger arrived late to Wednesday’s game, although MPCG had things in hand by then thanks to Satrom.
