MayPort-CG’s track team continued its run of state-qualifying performances Saturday at the Hillsboro Sports Complex.
The Patriots are sending three more to Bismarck in May after Tatum Mehus, Noah Mehus and Nora Peterson punched their tickets to the state meet.
Tatum Mehus, an eighth-grader, qualified in the 400-meter run while sophomore Noah Mehus qualified in the pole vault.
Peterson, a senior, qualified for a trip to Bismarck in the triple jump.
Tatum Mehus took second in the 400, finishing the race in a personal record time 1:01.26. She trailed Central Cass freshman Elise Wisnewski, who took first, by fewer than two seconds.
Noah Mehus cleared 12 feet in the pole vault for the first time in his track career, a height he has been working to vault for more than two years. He out-jumped Hillsboro-Central Valley junior Parker Gallagher by 4 inches for Saturday’s title.
