Tatum Limke looks to pass

Hillsboro-Central Valley senior guard Tatum Limke looks to pass to a teammate Monday against Park River/Fordville-Lankin.

Hillsboro-Central Valley put up a strong defensive effort in Monday’s Region 2 contest against Park River/Fordville-Lankin but struggled to knock down shots.

The Burros fell 35-16 and dropped to 1-9 on the season, while the Aggies (5-4) improved to 5-2 in their last seven games.

“We came out aggressive, which was good,” H-CV head coach Hayleigh Lautt said Tuesday.

“We are still struggling with getting it across halfcourt and then keeping it across halfcourt, and I thought we could’ve had a little better shot selection, but the girls fought hard.”

Jonathan Berg’s squad jumped out to an 11-2 lead after the first quarter and held H-CV scoreless for the final seven minutes of the second quarter to take a 24-4 lead into halftime.
