MayPort-CG used its final two meets of the regular season in Larimore and Casselton to move up in its qualifying heats for the state meet in Bismarck and work toward adding more state qualifiers.
The Patriots’ state-qualifying girls 4x100-meter relay team set an MPCG school record Monday in Casselton after finishing under 52 seconds.
Sophomores Brooklyn Groth and Kate Bradner, senior Nora Peterson and freshman Rylee Satrom finished the relay in 51.57 seconds to rank third in the state this spring.
“We had a really good race from them with really good handoffs,” head coach Wendy Garrett-Mehus said. “They also had a PR time and set a school record by one-tenth of a second.”
Peterson qualified for state in the 400-meter run in Larimore on Saturday – her seventh state-qualifying event of the spring – after taking second and setting a personal record (1:01.52).
