Scott Olsen’s football team is returning to the B’s this year.
Hillsboro-Central Valley’s pigskin squad will be playing in the state’s new Class B 11-man division after two seasons playing in Class 2A.
But the Burros, two years removed from a state 2A title and bouncing back from a semifinal loss in 2021, also will return to their bread and butter: the option offense.
“We’re going to try run more option than we have the past couple of years,” Olsen said Wednesday.
“We’ve got good backs so we’re going to try to get them the ball.”
Junior quarterback Riley Olsen will take his first start under center next Friday when H-CV hosts Central Cass at the Hillsboro Sports Complex.
Scott Olsen said he has confidence in his son’s ability to read a defense, despite coming into the season with less varsity playing experience than most of his teammates,
“He knows the game,” Scott Olsen said.
“He’s been around me long enough to where he studies it the way I do.
