Rural BUXTON – Hillsboro-Central Valley scored 51 first-half points and three Burros scored in double figures in a 66-19 win over Hatton-Northwood on Tuesday at Central Valley School. 

The Burros picked up their second straight win of the 2022-23 season behind a game-high 17 points from senior Peter Dryburgh. 

Junior Landon Olson finished with 16 points and junior Jacob Brandt poured in 15 points and hauled down five rebounds. 

“If we get that out of those three guys, we are going to be pretty tough all year long,” H-CV head coach Elliot Rotvold said. 

H-CV made three of its seven 3-pointers in the opening quarter and jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first 3:29 of the game. 

The Thunder got on the scoreboard with 4:22 to play thanks to a Teddy Peterick layup but Rotvold’s squad ended the first quarter on a 15-0 run to take a commanding 32-2 lead after the first eight minutes.
