The Patriots finished fourth as a team, carding a 360 at the Casselton, N.D. course, after a misplayed drop forced the disqualification of one of the team’s top golfers.

“It was a great learning moment for us all,” said MPCG golf coach Brian Halvorson. “It was just an unfortunate disqualification.”
Still, the Patriots had an exceptional day on the course.
Junior Joey Carr shot an 82 for third place and senior Nic Dale added an 83 for fifth place.
Freshman Ryder Fugleberg was the third Patriot golfer to finish in the 80s with an 88.
With Evans’ 92, the team would have finished second – one shot ahead of Oak Grove and behind first-place Kindred.
Eighth-grader Cody Fugleberg finished as the team’s fourth golfer, carding a 107.
Still, Halvorson said he expects Evans to rebound and bolster a formidable squad this spring.
“If this was any indication, I would think we would compete for the top three team total in each meet,” Halvorson said.
The Patriots golfed at their home course at a meet Thursday. Their next outing will be at Oxbow Country Club Tuesday, May 4.
