MayPort-CG freshmen Rylee and Raina Satrom picked up a little extra hardware before their trip to the state Class B fast-pitch tournament Thursday in Jamestown.
The twin sisters received all-region honors at the conclusion of the East Region tournament May 25 in Casselton.
In addition to MPCG’s pair of all-region players, Hillsboro-Central Valley had two seniors picked for this year’s East Region squad: Noella Kritzberger and Tatiana Egan.
Kritzberger pitched a team-high 97.2 innings for the Burros during the 2021 season.
She finished the spring with an 10-7 record after striking out a program single-season record 155 batters in 17 games.
At the plate, Kritzberger batted .541 and had a team-high 33 hits in 70 plate appearances. She also recorded 12 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
Egan, H-CV’s second baseman, hit .491 this spring in 63 plate appearances.
The Burros senior collected 26 hits and had 16 RBIs and 13 runs on the season.
The Satroms powered MPCG to the state Class B tourney with a dramatic 4-3 win over Northern Cass in a play-in game May 25.
Through 19 games (11-8), Rylee Satrom went 5-2 in the pitcher’s circle and picked up the win in an eight-inning complete game against the Jaguars to punch MPCG’s ticket to state.
She struck out 93 entering Thursday’s first-round matchup with Des Lacs-Burlington at the state tournament.
She pitched in 13 games this season and had a 3.91 ERA.
At the plate, Rylee Satrom hit .510 and had 25 hits in 67 plate appearances. She recorded 15 RBIs and 26 runs as well.
Raina Satrom, MPCG’s catcher, batted .526.
She finished the regular season and East Region tournament with 30 hits (22 singles, six doubles) and had 24 RBIs and 26 runs scored.
