CASSELTON – Hillsboro-Central Valley struggled with injuries Saturday in its Region 2 dual tournament and dropped both of its team matches to Grafton and Central Cass.
The Burros were outscored 120-24 in the pair of duals, allowing 60 points in each, and did not qualify as a team for the state Class B wrestling tournament.
However, due to COVID-19, nearly every wrestler will advance to the state tournament individually and Saturday’s dual tournament gave a clearer picture of how wrestling will be seeded prior to state.
“We were out some wrestlers so that was a major factor right there,” said Burros head coach Trace Bakke. “How we jumped (wrestlers) around, moving guys up or down, just didn’t work well for us with how (Grafton and Central Cass) wrestled us.
Junior Barrett Willison was the only Burro to go undefeated Saturday.
