MAYVILLE – MayPort Area opened the high school hockey season Dec. 15 with a 10-0 win over the Fargo Freeze Junior Gold team.

On Tuesday, the Ice Dawgs again netted 10 goals against the Freeze in a 10-1 victory.

But MayPort Area head coach Chase Knudson said that’s where similarities between the two games end.

Fresh off their second Eastern Dakota Conference win of the season, the Ice Dawgs peppered Freeze goalie Aiden Eckart with 69 shots in a dominating performance at Kim Braaten Memorial Arena.

“Our offensive end was cleaner and more crisp,” Knudson said. “We controlled most of the game in their own zone and we were setting the puck up really well.”

Sawyer Satrom, Devon Johnson and Noah Mehus all lit the lamp twice for the Ice Dawgs, who moved to 4-3 on the season.
