Tanner Lundwall against Red Lake Falls

MayPort Area senior Tanner Lundwall, center, skates through the defense of Red Lake Falls, Minn., Dec. 16 in a 3-2 home loss to the Eagles at Kim Braaten Memorial Arena in Mayville.

MayPort Area traveled across state lines on Tuesday to Bagley, Minn., and had the lead for 48 minutes before the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

“We’re pretty much head-to-head with (Bagley-Fosston) in terms of skill,” Ice Dawgs head coach Chase Knudson said Wednesday afternoon.

“(B-F) had a little bit more fresh legs then us but we grinded it out and we weren’t able to come up with a win. But it’s not a loss at the same time.”

The Ice Dawgs were without their top leading scorer in sophomore Walker McGillis. Freshman forward Keaton Saastad also was out.

But after a scoreless first period, junior Lucas Fugleberg gave his team a 1-0 lead.
