HANKINSON, N.D. – Logan Krueger hauled in two touchdown passes and turned a midfield interception into a pick six before half to lead MayPort-CG to a 54-14 win over Hankinson on Friday, Sept. 4.
MPCG’s Gavin Mewes tipped a pass from Pirates quarterback Cruz Hernandez, allowing Krueger to intercept the ball in front of the Patriots sideline and race 50 yards for a score with 1:14 remaining in the first half.
That touchdown put the Patriots ahead 32-6 going into halftime as MPCG (3-0) cruised to a 42-point Region 1 victory over Hankinson (0-3) after being forced to come from behind to win its first two games.
“We didn’t play like I think we can but it was a lot better tonight,” Patriots head coach Adam Sola said after the game.
“We limited our mistakes and we shored up some areas in our blocking and run game and that showed out there.”
