Jace Leshuk pulls down Boeden Greenley

Hillsboro-Central Valley senior Jace Leshuk, left, pulls down Lisbon quarterback Boeden Greenley during a play in the first half of Saturday’s 43-8 Burros’ playoff win in Hillsboro.

When Central Cass beat Hillsboro-Central Valley 31-12 to open the 2021 season, the Burros were the No. 1-ranked team in Class 11B.

The two teams square up against each other for a quarterfinal matchup at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hillsboro with the Burros being the No. 1 seed in the playoffs but this time it’s win or go home for both squads.

“They (H-CV) are going to be super hungry,” Central Cass head coach Tommy Butler said Tuesday evening.

“We want to show that (beating H-CV) was no fluke. We said all year that we wanted to play in the Fargodome and that goal is still right in front of us. We are playing another team that’s just as motivated as us, so to me it comes down to execution.”

The Squirrels advanced out of the first round of the playoffs after defeating Harvey-Wells County 43-6 – a team H-CV beat 28-26 on Sept. 3.
