A 17-5 third-quarter edge sparked by Gannon Limke carried Hillsboro-Central Valley to a 61-34 win over MayPort-CG on Tuesday night at the Hillsboro Events Center.

Limke poured in a game-high 28 points and teammate Jackson Anderson chipped in 12, helping the Burros win their fifth in a row prior to Tuesday’s Region 2 showdown with Thompson.

Patriots head coach Taylor Kunkel said his club committed too many turnovers and gave up an overabundance of second-chance points to a tall and athletic H-CV team led by head coach Elliot Rotvold.

“Coach Rotvold does a great job putting them in great situations and we saw that tonight,” Kunkel said. “Their two-three zone is effective and they trap out of it. They did a heckuva job with that against us.”
