After averaging 5.3 goals per game in its last six contests, MayPort Area’s hot sticks came to a halt Tuesday evening in Red Lake Falls, Minn.
The Ice Dawgs had their six-game winning streak snapped by Red Lake Falls 6-2 and gave up a season-high six goals.
“We came out and just didn’t play our best game,” MayPort Area head coach Tony Uglem said Wednesday.
“You’re going to lose games when you’re playing good teams if you don’t come 100 percent ready to play.”
The Eagles (7-2) were supposed to travel to Mayville’s Kim Braaten Memorial Arena on Dec. 16 but the matchup was postponed because of weather.
Both teams entered the contest on winning streaks and Red Lake Falls extend its run to six games after hanging up four straight goals to open the game.
