Hillsboro-Central Valley has had height on its roster in the past.
H-CV fans remember the big bodies of Jack Camrud, Cade Baesler and Tyler Bergstrom patrolling the paint in 2018.
But this season, the Burros have height that can also step outside the paint and knock down shots.
Seniors Gannon Limke, Caden Waterworth, Alec Magnuson and sophomore Jacob Brandt all range from 6-foot-5 to 6-foot-7.
“The nice thing with all four of these guys is they are good inside the post but all four can step out and knock it down from 15-20 feet,” H-CV head coach Elliot Rotvold, who enters his 25th year as Burros head coach, said Tuesday.
“We’ll still be a power team but we can also knock down shots and stretch the floor with those big guys as well.”
H-CV received 53 votes in the season’s first Class B poll and is ranked seventh in the state. North Border received 66 votes and is ranked sixth; the two Region 2 squads play each other Feb. 17.
