MayPort-CG sophomore pitcher Jake Hutter

MayPort-CG sophomore pitcher Jake Hutter finished with five strikeouts in two innings against Larimore Saturday. Hutter and the Patriots held the Polar Bears to one hit in six innings.

LARIMORE, N.D. – Sawyer Satrom and the MayPort-CG baseball team silenced Larimore’s bats Saturday.

The Patriots senior pitcher tallied seven strikeouts and allowed no hits over three innings for a 14-1 win over the Polar Bears – MPCG’s first Region 2 win of the season.

Satrom, a University of Minnesota Crookston commit, and underclassmen Jake Hutter and Lucas Fugleberg combined for a six-inning one-hitter against the young Larimore team.

“They did a good job,” said Patriots head coach Alex Berry. “I’ve been pleased with the way the pitchers have competed.

“Early in the spring, we’re just trying to cycle guys in and develop some longevity and endurance on the mound.”
