he positives following his club’s loss Tuesday.
The Hillsboro-Central Valley head coach saw his team fall 54-28 to the Richland Colts inside the Hillsboro Events Center to extend the Burros’ losing streak to four to start the season.
But the Burros held second-team all-stater Megan Roob to 15 points and the high-powered Colts offense to fewer than 60 points – a first for H-CV against an opponent this winter.
“After allowing more than 70 in our first two games, that was one of my goals for me coming in, to keep them under 60,” Morehart said after the loss.
“We did that and we did some good things once we got going. But we have things we need to work on like taking care of the ball and playing better defense and that’s going to take time.”
The Colts raced out of the gates after tipoff and built a 28-8 lead after the first quarter.
