Jackson Anderson’s 18 points powered Hillsboro-Central Valley to a 51-40 win over Northern Cass on Monday, marking the Burros’ first road win of the season.
“It’s really important to get our first road win,” H-CV head coach Elliot Rotvold said.
“It’s the first one out of six of seven road games for us coming up so it’s nice to see the guys come out and play well on the road. … Defensively, I thought we really got it done tonight.”
After three low-scoring quarters, the Burros (6-4) and Jaguars (6-6) caught fire and combined for 38 points in a fast-paced final frame that saw the teams trade 3-pointers and fouls in the closing minutes.
The Burros had a comfortable 40-27 lead with under four minutes to play thanks to sharp shooting from Anderson and forwards Gannon Limke and Jacob Brandt.
