Cole Hebl leads cheer

Hillsboro-Central Valley fullback Cole Hebl and the Burros take on Northern Cass tonight in Hillsboro.

Northern Cass second-year head coach Tyler Ukestad kept it simple when asked what his team needs to do to take down Hillsboro-Central Valley tonight (Friday) at the Hillsboro Event Center.

“Score,” Ukestad said Tuesday evening. “Score more points to win.”

The Jaguars (1-1) did their fair share of scoring on Aug. 27 against Oak Grove in a season-opening 39-21 victory but are coming off a 50-12 loss to Thompson last week.

Senior quarterback Jack Metzger was roughed up in the second half against the Tommies as freshman quarterback Julian Leichtenberg saw some action.

Leichtenberg threw two touchdowns in his debut but Ukestad said his starting quarterback will be back on the field tonight against the Burros in their homecoming game.

Metzger leads Northern Cass’s rushing attack that racked up five touchdowns on the ground against Oak Grove three weeks ago.
