Brody Dickhoff on green

Hillsboro-Central Valley eighth-grader Brody Dickhoff reads the green Monday in Carrington.

High winds didn’t phase Brody Dickhoff Wednesday.

The Hillsboro-Central Valley eighth-grader fired a 15-over 86 to tie for eighth overall and lead the Burros to a fifth-place finish at Rose Creek Golf Course Wednesday in Fargo.

Dickhoff finished with pars on No. 2, No. 4 and No. 12 but added a double bogey on No. 11 for his score.

The Burros finished with a team score 83-over.

“Brody played extremely well,” said Ryan Nielsen, H-CV boys golf coach.

“Other than Brody, we struggled.”

Windy conditions wreaked havoc on the Region 2 golfers Wednesday.

On Monday, at a state individual qualifier in Carrington, N.D., the region qualified 12 golfers for the state meet.

On Wednesday, one qualified.
