Tatum Limke and Sadie Gallagher

Hillsboro-Central Valley senior Tatum Limke, right, and freshman Sadie Gallagher will take the court Tuesday night when the Burros girls basketball team opens its 2021-22 season at Oak Grove Lutheran School in Fargo.

From top to bottom, Hillsboro-Central Valley has a young roster this season and that includes its new head coach.

First-year head coach Hayleigh Lautt takes over a program roster that consists of two seniors, three juniors and eight underclassmen.

The Burros finished the 2020-21 season with a 1-19 record but Lautt is excited to show how far this team has come since last year when the squad opens its season Tuesday against Oak Grove in Fargo.

“I hope people come out and watch these girls,” said Lautt, who has coached basketball for three seasons so far in her young coaching career. “They’ve been working hard and I think people are going to be really impressed with how they are going to play this year.”

Coming into last season, H-CV had won double-digit games in three out of its last four seasons.

Lautt wants the Burros to get back to that spot and that starts on both ends of the hardwood.
