The Hillsboro Day of Service Committee would like to thank financial supporters, organizers and workers for sharing your contributions, time and talents to the Day of Service on Sept. 10. It was a huge success!
We had over 70 volunteers that completed 15 home cleanup/fix-up projects, as well as cleaning up around the school and community.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we suspended all other “inside” projects we have done in the past. We look forward to their return in 2021.
Without the support that we received from the community, we would not have been able to accomplish so much.
Additionally, this year we were able to make donations to the Kiwanis Food Pantry, which serves food and non-perishables to needy families; the Hillsboro Community Cares Ministry, which is an association of all the faith communities in Hillsboro; and the Hillsboro Backpack Program, which provides food items to children in our school for weekend meals.
These groups are especially critical during this pandemic.
We are so fortunate to be living in the giving community of Hillsboro and hope to be able to continue to give back with future Days of Service.
