Name dropping and claims to fame.

I’m big on both even though the names I drop few know and my self-professed notoriety can’t be found in any kind of record books.

Still, I persist.

When I stretch the truth, strangers find me interesting, women insist I’m intriguing, and skeptics are quick to disbelieve.

Here’s one for you: I was sitting two chairs down from former New Jersey Sen. and professional basketball star Bill Bradley in Phoenix’s Sky Harbor air terminal. This was a few years ago, I submit.

I was waiting for an old Navy friend, Joe Miles, who was flying in from New Jersey.

I asked Bill if he knew Joe. “Can’t say that I do, sorry.”

Joe and I were in the middle of an incident in Sasebo, Japan, a few years ago, I explained.
