Driving Miss Daisy is nothing like Driving with Mrs. Nelson.
For starters Miss Daisy (Jessica Tandy) was 72 years old, wealthy, Jewish, widowed and a retired schoolteacher.
Mrs. Nelson, whom I often refer to as the Baker/DA (Domestic Administrator), looks nothing like Jessica Tandy, is not wealthy but did teach school at one time.
And I’m nothing like Morgan Freeman, who plays Hokie, Miss Daisey’s chauffeur in the movie “Driving Miss Daisy.”
One, Hokie or Morgan is Black, I’m as white as they come.
Two, Hokie is a man of many talents, I have no talents to speak of.
Hokie was obviously challenged by Miss Daisy (Jessica Tandy) and her defining views on family, religion and life in general. I’m guessing she was also critical of Hokie’s driving.
