Writing is a profession where a guy shouldn’t have to live in fear of losing life or limb.

Writing for newspapers, on the other hand, is a different animal, all I’m saying.

Consider how double jeopardy factors into the picture.

Not to sound too melodramatic, but journalists stand to lose life and/or limb every time we step out of the office.

Ever since former President Donald Trump targeted journalists as fake news, everyone in the newspaper industry has a target on his or her back.

I kid you not.

Yet, there was something funny about the Sundance Kid shouting out in the movie “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” – “Shoot low, Sheriff – They’re riding Shetlands.”
