Jeannette Ellingson, age 94, of Northfield, Minnesota, formerly of Baudette, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 12, 2020, at the Northfield Hospital.
Jeannette Audrey Kvanvig Ellingson was born December 8, 1926, in Crookston, Minnesota, to Joseph and Amanda (Hoiland) Kvanvig. As a child, she moved with her family to California and grew up in Pacific Palisades. In 1942, they moved to Albany, Oregon, and Jeannette graduated from Albany High School in 1944. In 1947, Jeannette received her Registered Nurse degree from Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene. That same year, she married Leonard Edmund Ellingson. They moved to Hillsboro, North Dakota, and in 1983 to Baudette, Minnesota on Lake of the Woods. Jeannette worked as a nurse, retiring in 2001. Leonard passed away in 1999. Jeannette moved to Northfield in 2016. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing and crafts and was a longtime member of Wabanica Lutheran Church.
Jeannette is survived by her children, Kathy Ellingson-Otto (Phillip) of Baltimore, Maryland, Carol Kelly of Lakeville, Minnesota, Lynne (Mike) Feininger of Northfield, Bruce (Kate) Ellingson of Renton, Washington; eight grandchildren, Patrick Otto, Alex Otto, Katy (Jeremiah) Leiviska, Bryn (Joseph) Miller, Christopher (Sandy) Bremseth, Amy (Chris) Garman, Andrew (Kelli) Erickson, Ross Ellingson; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
