LuVerne Payne was born on Aug. 7, 1927, in Argusville, N.D. where she grew up and received her education.
LuVerne was united in marriage to Alvin Hansen in Moorhead, Minn. on May 17, 1949.
Together the couple made their home in the Hunter, N.D., area and later moved to Hillsboro, N.D., where they raised their family.
LuVerne was well known in the community for being active at the Hillsboro United Parish, where she was a longtime member, and working for many years at the Hillsboro Hospital.
She was also very proud of her volunteer work for Hospice of the Red River Valley.
She will be remembered for her loving way of opening her home to family and friends.
LuVerne is survived by her children—Greg, Neal, Keith, Claudia, Laura, Elizabeth, and Todd; her 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her very dear in-laws, relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020 at Hillsboro United Parish UCC-UMC in Hillsboro. Pastor Tim Bauer, officiated, with Susan Cheatley, pianist, and Angela Kritzberger, soloist, performing “Amazing Grace,” “In The Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.”
LuVerne’s final resting place is Hunter Cemetery, Hunter.
