Daniel Jay Hanson, 67, passed away on November 8, 2022 at Sanford Hospital on Broadway in Fargo, N.D.
Daniel Jay Hanson was born on October 17, 1955 to Melvin and Elizabeth (Reimer) Hanson in Hillsboro, N.D. He grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1974. He worked at Crystal Sugar after graduation, before moving to Phoenix, Ariz. He worked in roofing while in Phoenix, until moving back home to Hillsboro in 2001. He drove truck in Fargo for Gulf Eagle until his retirement in 2020. In his retirement, he spent much of his time fishing at the lake. He also enjoyed wood burning and spending time with his family.
Daniel is survived by his son, Tyler Otto (Hillsboro); his mother, Elizabeth Hanson (Mayville, N.D.); his brother, Tom (Andrea) Hanson (Grand Forks, N.D.); his nephews, Brian (Dani) Hanson (Grand Forks), and Eric (Jenelle) Hanson (Fargo); his special friend, Susan Johnson (Mayville); as well as numerous cousins and friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by father, Melvin Hanson; and several aunts and uncles.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at 10 a.m., with a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.
Burial will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro.
