The Traill County Economic Development Commission has awarded more than $22,000 in child care and beautification grants to promote day care and spruce up cities in the county.
Twenty-four grant requests seeking up to $1,000 apiece were approved by TCEDC board members during an in-person meeting May 20 in Hillsboro.
Board member Brian Van Horn said TCEDC received 25 requests for funds and only one grant – from the Traill County Historical Society – was turned down because the organization had submitted two.
The grants will cover a portion of the costs to complete two dozen projects in the county with a cumulative price tag of nearly $250,000, he said.
