The Norman County West (Minn.) School Board unanimously approved a district consolidation with neighboring Ada-Borup Tuesday.
The change will form the Ada-Borup West School District for the 2021-2022 school year following an all-sports co-op between the two districts beginning in 2018 and tuition agreement established that same year.
Norman County West Superintendent Jim Hess told R&J Broadcasting that consolidation had been the likely next step for the district for years.
“The district has been moving in this direction for the past three and a half or four years,” he said. “During that time, it’s been kind of expected that we work together as school districts and that we find more opportunities for kids.”
