Rural BLANCHARD, N.D. – Richard Schlichtmann lost track of the number of extension cords he has snaking around his farmstead.
The 67-year-old also isn’t sure how many Christmas lights he has adorning the trees and buildings on his property.
But one thing he and his wife, Dianne, are sure of is that their rural Blanchard house can be seen from miles away.
“This one couple that lives out here said they were coming down the road and told us, ‘I thought this was a casino,’” Richard recalls with a laugh. “No, no, it’s not that.”
The Schlichtmanns are inviting the public out to see the biggest Christmas display the couple has been able to muster.
