The Hillsboro Business Association on Tuesday inched closer toward putting the finishing touches on 2022’s Hillsboro Days lineup.

HBA President J.R. Strom said this June’s Hillsboro Days will see the return of the staples that have become traditions during the popular four-day city celebration.

The downtown parade, the Vets Club’s bean bag tournament, a kids’ fishing derby, horse and tractor pulls and a Saturday night street dance have been lined up in advance.

However, Strom spent a portion of Tuesday’s HBA meeting asking merchants whether they should make minor adjustments to the Hillsboro Days schedule Saturday, June 18.

Strom said the organization received reports that a few families – especially those with young children – were leaving Hillsboro during the lull between the Saturday morning parade and the start of kids’ games on the Traill County Courthouse lawn at 11 a.m.

He questioned whether HBA members should ask the Hillsboro Fire Department – which organizes the downtown parade – if the event should be bumped back 30 or 60 minutes.
