Dera Johnson is hoping for a second wind of registrations for this year’s Hillsboro Days 5K run.
The event, held June 16 with a start in Woodland Park, has a little over 100 runners registered so far, compared with around 200 last year – one year after the COVID-19 canceled Hillsboro Days activities.
The dip in registrations is leaving the Hillsboro Running Club scratching its head.
“COVID gave us a hit last year, but we’re feeling like things should have come back,” said Johnson, who serves as the club’s president.
