Three years after restarting the school’s one-act play program, Maggie Zentner’s Hillsboro High School drama club is nearing the top of the region.
The Burros’ one-act production of “An Experiment,” written by Brent Holland, earned a runner-up finish at Region 3 plays Nov. 17 in Larimore.
Behind seniors Hanna Magnuson and Morgan Chandler, who earned Region 3 outstanding acting honors for their roles, the performance garnered high praise from judges.
“We had a lot of time to practice,” Zentner said. “We had about two months because the performances kept getting delayed.”
Set in a fictional world, “An Experiment” tells the story of five individuals who wake up with no memories and find themselves in the middle of a psychological experiment.
