COVID-19 threw Nikki Adam a curveball last spring, but everything’s coming up roses for the Grandin woman.
After being laid off from her bartending job due to the pandemic, Adam and her fiance, Tyler Kent, are opening Little Greenhouse on the Prairie Saturday, May 1, in the rural town.
For the 38-year-old, finding a passion for petunias was the silver lining in what has been a difficult past year.
“When I lost my job, I said, ‘You know what? It’s time to take a risk,’” Adam said Wednesday at her home greenhouse. “I’m really glad I did.”
Originally from Jamestown, N.D., Adam attended college at North Dakota State to study horticulture.
