Jacked Up

Fargo band Jacked Up, pictured above during the Hillsboro Days street dance in June 2019, has been hired to return for the same event this summer.

The Hillsboro Business Association has started making preliminary plans for Hillsboro Days this summer following the cancellation of the city celebration a year ago.

Hillsboro Drug owner Randy Habeck, one of Hillsboro Days’ chief organizers, said Wednesday that Fargo band Jacked Up has been lined up to perform June 19 in Hillsboro.

The band performed at the Hillsboro Days street dance in 2019 and had been slated to return in 2020 prior to the global pandemic that forced the event to be scuttled.

HBA members on Wednesday briefly discussed whether to move the location of the dance, traditionally held east of the Traill County Courthouse along First Street Northwest.

HBA member Sheila Geray said places like A&R Bar and the Vets Club, which pay fees to set up cash bars inside the gates of the street dance, may raise concerns over holding the event outside Goose River Brewing, a 15-barrel microbrewery opening this spring along First Street Northwest.
