The Central Valley School Board wants public input on whether the rural Buxton school should continue its tech ed classes or shift gears and hire an industrial arts or vo-ag teacher.
The board held a special meeting Tuesday night over Zoom to approve the resignation of tech ed teacher Tracy Foss, who said she wouldn’t be signing her 2021-22 contract to pursue a job elsewhere.
The resignation created short- and long-term concerns that school administrators needed to discuss with a month remaining before the start of fall classes, said Superintendent Jeremy Brandt.
It’s unlikely the district would be able to hire a tech teacher so close to the start of school, Brandt said.
