A bluegrass and country band from southwestern North Dakota will perform Saturday night in eastern Traill County as part of a fundraising concert to benefit Grue Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The Waddington Brothers, an acoustic group that’s been performing together since 2004, will kick off their concert at 6 p.m. Saturday at the church at 1423 168th Ave. N.E., 8 miles northeast of Buxton.
Buxton architect Bobbi Hepper Olson and a handful of supporters have been raising money for the past year to pay for repairs to the historic church, which was built in 1891 in Stavanger Township.
Saturday night’s concert, backed by a $7,500 grant that supporters received from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, should raise awareness about efforts to restore the church and offer a little entertainment for people after Saturday’s Hillsboro-Central Valley playoff game, Hepper Olson said.
