The Central Valley School Board on Monday rejected a motion that sought to non-renew the contracts of Superintendent Jeremy Brandt and technology teacher Tracy Foss at the end of the school year.
Board members met privately with Brandt for nearly 90 minutes Monday before reconvening in public and voting 5-2 to end the non-renewal proceedings.
The decision means Brandt will continue at the helm of the district in 2021-22, provided a new contract between the parties can be worked out.
However, Brandt and School Board President Dave Seyfried agreed that Monday’s decision won’t preclude Brandt from taking on additional duties next year.
Those duties could include expanding his role from superintendent to one that includes serving as the district’s superintendent and K-6 principal.
