Three candidates have filed for two seats on the Central Valley School Board in the June 8 election.
Incumbent Carrie Knutson will be challenged in the upcoming school board election by Leann Breidenbach to represent Area 1, which includes the City of Reynolds.
Eric Gunderson, another incumbent, will run unopposed in the race to represent Area 6, which includes Stavanger Township.
The three candidates, who are seeking three-year seats on the school board, were the only ones to file for office prior to Monday’s filing deadline. In other area school board races:
n Incumbent board members Kris Brekken and Mary Mattson will run unopposed for three-year seats on the Hillsboro School Board in June.
Brekken’s seat represents the townships of Kelso, Elm River, Herberg and the southern half of Hillsboro while Mattson’s seat represents the City of Hillsboro.
n Incumbent board members Jeremy Strand, Andy Neset and James Aarsvold refiled for office and will run unopposed to retain their seats on the MayPort-CG School Board.
Strand’s seat represents rural Portland (Zones 1 and 2). Neset serves rural Mayville (Zones 3 and 4). Aarsvold’s seat includes Clifford-Galesburg (Zones 8 and 9).
