Traill County Sheriff Steve Hunts plans to meet with county employees to review safety protocols for people entering the Traill County Courthouse after two threats were reported to his office.
Hunt told the Traill County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday that a representative from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently performed a security assessment of the courthouse building in Hillsboro.
The county received a copy of the report Monday and Hunt asked county commissioners to meet behind closed doors at their next meeting Dec. 7 to discuss sensitive material in the report.
In addition to that meeting, Hunt told the board that his office was notified about a pair of hostile phone calls that were made to courthouse employees in the past two weeks.
