Campus officials at Mayville State University want to hold the North Dakota Shrine Bowl games at MSU’s Jerome Berg Field in 2022.
MSU President Brian Van Horn told the Traill County Economic Development Commission on July 15 that the university plans to submit an application to host the high school all-star games next year.
Mayville State has welcomed 9- and 11-man players and coaches for a week of practice prior to the annual showcase the past nine years but never hosted the Shrine Bowl.
“We’ve been working with the Shriners for a number of years … and hosting the Shrine Bowl would be an exciting thing,” Van Horn said. “We’re going to do our very best to bring it to Mayville.”
