The location of North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum’s scheduled visit to the Mayville-Portland area on Wednesday night has been changed.
The Republican governor will appear alongside District 20 legislators starting at 6 p.m. at Norsemen Hall at 1100 Parke Ave. in Portland.
Previously, Burgum and District 20 state Sen. Randy Lemm (R-Hillsboro) and state Reps. Mike Beltz (R-Hillsboro) and Jared Hagert (R-Emerado) had been slated to appear at Island Park in Mayville.
Sarah Lovas, treasurer for the District 20 Republican party, said Wednesday that organizers moved the location of Burgum’s visit from an outdoors venue to indoors due to concerns over the weather.
