District 20 lawmakers remain optimistic that the state Legislature will earmark $1.6 million this spring to allow Mayville State University to replace its aging fuel oil burners with natural gas.
Sen. Randy Lemm (R-Hillsboro) and Reps. Mike Beltz (R-Hillsboro) and Jared Hagert (R-Emerado) took part in a 90-minute legislative forum streamed on YourLiveEvent.com on Sunday.
During the stream, the trio tossed their support behind MSU’s efforts to convert its heating plant to natural gas and tackled questions on North Dakota’s interstate speeds, recreational pot and funding for township roads.
Lemm told viewers that he’s had private discussions with senior members of the Senate Appropriations Committee about supporting MSU’s $1.6 million capital project funding request to install natural gas burners on campus.
