The advisory board that oversees Traill District Health Unit will recommend that Traill County drop its mask mandate when county leaders revisit the issue Tuesday, May 4.
The Traill County Board of Health agreed Monday to recommend that the county’s ongoing mask mandate be rescinded, according to Brenda Stallman, director of Traill District Health Unit.
The Board of Health will ask county commissioners to replace their mask mandate with a mask advisory, which encourages residents to continue wearing face coverings when appropriate.
“Masks are beneficial. But we realize that the enforcement and compliance with our current mask mandate has been exhausted,” Stallman said Monday.
“However, there will always be people who wear masks and want to wear masks and they should be allowed to do so.”
