FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. — North Dakota’s three-time Class B champion cross-country runner got a big boost of confidence Saturday at the 34th annual Roy Griak Invitational.

Reagan Baesler won the 5-kilometer maroon race with a time of 19:04 after falling short multiple times in the past.

“It tells her that she’s a legitimate state champion candidate again. But she knew that,” H-CV head coach Kirk Zink said Tuesday. “Winning Griak is awesome but that’s not her goal for the year.

“It’s nice from a recruiting standpoint ... but her goal is going to come in about a month and she’s going to keep working toward that.”
