CARRINGTON, N.D. – With only one golfer breaking 80 Tuesday at the state Class B golf meet, Tiffany Kozojed remained right in the mix.

The Hillsboro-Central Val-ley junior was tied for 13th place with six other golfers at Crossroads Golf Club with a 16-over par 88 (43-45).

Three-time state champion and South Border sophomore Emily St. Aubin led the tournament after day one with a 4-over par 76 while Kozojed was seven strokes off the meet’s second-place golfer.

“I was pretty happy with the first nine,” Kozojed said Tuesday night. “But on the back, I felt like I could have had some better shots.

“If I will be able to have a few more consistent putts on the green I believe that would end my round with a pretty good score tomorrow (Wednesday).”
